Electing a President for Portugal

Today Portugal is electing its President for the next 5 years. The campaign has been going on for several months between the oficial period and the time where the candidates were already on the streets in pre-campaign. Finally the time has come and today is the day where all the Portugal eligible for voting should use that right to choose our next President.

I didn't make any mention about this process before here in this blog but this has been an election that I have been following quite closely. I believe that in many moments in time in the history of a country, their countrymen (and women) have the choice to make "choices" that will dictate how will the country evolve and develop itself in the next 10/15 years. I believe this is one of these moments and probably a very special one.

Like in some other moments of my country history, I believe that this election will dictate how stable will the country be in the next 5 year, how goal and results oriented will our politians will be.

Personally, I am this guy to win. I could name quite a few reasons but I will stick with just 2.

One, he was the only one who posted his application for such important position because he wanted to win and he has an agenda. Unfortunately and among 5 other candidates, he is the only one. Two, he has a very strong results oriented culture. Bring me results or your out. In a country where self-resfect has only fallen in the last years and where there is not a strong culture of leading by example and by achievements, I believe that this guy is the right guy for the position.

Rusults will start to be release in 20 minutes (ballots close at 7 pm Portuguese time). There's at least one portuguese in Brussels (I don't know if Ze Manel is here) glued to RTP International.

I will try to make some posts to relate the events of the next couple of hours.
